Anita Joyce Adkison, age 72, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed over into Life Everlasting on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.  She was born to the late James and Alba Ford, June 19, 1948, in Russellville, Arkansas.

Anita attended Pottsville High School. She married Bobby Gene Adkison in 1966.  Anita was a member of Maple Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Anita worked for many years in the grocery store business before opening her own business, D&R Pawn Shop in Dardanelle and then later, Silver Dollar Gun and Pawn in Russellville. Anita was a pianist and singer and passed on her love and appreciation of music to her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Ford.

Anita is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Gene Adkison; her three sons, Stephen Douglas Adkison (Amy) of Cape Coral, Florida, Kevin Richard Adkison (Jennie) of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Mark Shannon Adkison (Shannon) of Park Ridge, IL; four grandchildren, Hannah Adkison of Clearwater, Florida, Stephen Joshua Adkison of Estero, Florida, Morgan Garrison of Nashville, Tennessee, and Taylor Elizabeth Gabrovic of Cape Coral, Florida; as well as five siblings, Ronnie Ford (Paulette), Chris Ford and Douglas Ford, all of Russellville, and Beverly Hay and Dena Ford (both of Pottsville).

The graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2020, at Rest Haven Memorial Park with the Rev. David Downum officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

An open visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00-4:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
