Barbara Ann Horton, age 79, of Russellville, died Thursday, June 25, 2026, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.  She was born December 7, 1946, in Russellville to Elmer Ray Sr. and Oma Anna Hull Hackworth.

She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Russellville, a member of Atkins First United Methodist Church, the Rainbow Girls and the Russellville Fire Department Auxiliary. She previously served on the Civil Service Board, the Ouachita Girl Scout Board, the American Red Cross Board and was a Life Member of the #505 Order of the Eastern Star.  She had worked as a hotel auditor and for the Girl Scouts of America.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Horton.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Scott Chandler of Russellville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Elmer Ray Jr. and Beverly Hackworth of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Gary Harvey and the Rev. Mike Blanchard officiating.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
