Bettie Ann Brunson, age 91, of Russellville, died Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Russellville.  She was born on September 14, 1934, in Archibald, Louisiana to Walter Lee and Mary Chapman Acklen.

Bettie was of the Methodist faith. She loved cooking, music, reading, and gardening. Most of all, she loved her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lieutenant Colonel Ted Brunson; four brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Michelle Brunson, Ty and Arceli Brunson, Mark and Janice Brunson, and Rick and Donella Brunson; five grandsons, Colin, Luke, David, Drew, Cameron; three granddaughters, Bettie Austin, Amy, and Ellen; a step-granddaughter, Tessa; a step-grandson, Ricky (Tiffany); two great-grandchildren, Beckett and Langley; two sisters-in-law, Joan Acklen and Margaret Acklen; numerous nieces and nephews; and three very close friends, Frances, Mary, and Karen.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

A private graveside service for the family will be in Little Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Archibald, Louisiana.
