Bobby Lynn Carter, age 76, of Russellville, died Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.  He was born January 25, 1949, in Dover.

Dad was a devoted husband, father, loyal friend and a man whose presence could brighten any room.  He lived life filled with passion and joy.  He found his greatest happiness in the simple meaningful moments casting a line on a quite morning, crafting something beautiful from a piece of wood, or telling a story that left everyone laughing or leaning in to hear more.

Above all else, he cherished his family.  His smile: warm, easy and ever- present was a constant reminder of his love and gratitude for the people around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Thomas and Esther Ruth Tackett Carter; his birth mother, who passed when he was two, Imogene Stevens Carter; a brother, Billy Joe Carter; and a sister, Janey Hilburn.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Carter; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Kelly Carter; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Judy Carter; five grandchildren, Madelyn Carter, Merritt Loudon, Cameron Patterson, Olivia Patterson and Fischer Talbert; his beloved dog, Sadie; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Shinn Chapel.  Burial will be in Pollard Cemetery at Dover under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel.
