Bobby Duane Hillis, age 84, of Atkins, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, February 18, 2023. He was born January 8, 1939, in Jerusalem, to Carl Joseph and Ola Mae Stroud Hillis.

Bob is a veteran of the Air National Guard. He worked for 13 years for the Arkansas Highway Department, then he worked for Dow Chemical for 20 years. He was a devout family man and always cared for and supported his family, as well as others. His faith kept him loving and humble.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Lewis and Ada Morris Williams; a brother, Richard Hillis; and a sister, June Huffman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Williams Hillis; two sons and daughter-in-law, Randy and Stephanie Hillis, and Tim Hillis; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl D. and Ellen Hillis; a sister, Joyce Garstka; six grandchildren, Christy Hillis, Shane (Heather) Hillis, Marisa (Greg) Willis, Caleb Hillis, Bradley (Ryleigh) Hillis, and Ethan Hillis; six great-grandchildren, Claude Hillis, and Riley Hillis, Alex Murff, Bonham Hillis, Payton Cox and Cayde Hillis; his special friend Gary Climer; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A family conducted celebration of life will be held at a later date, and arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
