Charlie W. Simmons, age 86, of Atkins died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Conway Regional Medical Center.  He was born October 31, 1936, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Henry Columbus and Lillie Barker Simmons.

He was a Dover High School graduate and a United States Army Veteran.  He was a Christian and loved the Lord.  Charlie adored his family and was a loving father and grandfather.  He enjoyed fishing and taught many in his family how to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Mae Simmons; brother, Laymon Simmons; and three sisters, Mary Dell Corbin, Bonnie Corbin and Helen Hottinger.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Truett Simmons of Atkins, Brooks Stephen and Robin Simmons of Pottsville, Brion Wesley and Jeanie Simmons of Morrilton and Michael Keith and Shari Simmons of Dardanelle; two daughters and a son-in-law, Nichole Michelle and Carl Young of Dover and Elizabeth Bennett of New Mexico; a brother-in-law, Joe Hottinger of Dover; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2023, at Atkins First Assembly of God with the Rev. Brian Ryals officiating.  Burial will be in North New Hope Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time at the church.
