David Robert Bewley, Jr., age 70, of Russellville, peacefully died Saturday, October 31, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 15, 1955, in Russellville to David Robert Sr. and Nina Faye Bewley.

He was a 1974 graduate of Russellville High School. In 1978, he graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business. He was a charter member of the Arkansas Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon.

David began his career with the Federal Land Bank of St. Louis, serving as Regional Credit Officer. After earning his designation as an Accredited Rural Appraiser through the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, David offered farm and rural appraisal services throughout the greater Mid-South. He also held a certified general appraiser’s license in the state of Arkansas. He narrowed his work to providing Technical Appraisal Reviews for various agricultural lending institutions in Arkansas and Missouri before his retirement in 2025.

David enjoyed traveling, fly fishing, and sharing good food with good people. His greatest pleasure was supporting, cheering, and uplifting his daughters through their various interests. From dance and gymnastics, to cross country and volleyball, he never missed a game, performance, honors assembly, or graduation. He always encouraged his girls to be the best versions of themselves.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Leigh Ann Bewley; daughters, Claire Bewley, of Little Rock and Alice Bewley, of St. Louis, Missouri; a mother-in-law, Alice Swann, of Newport; a brother-in-law, Andy Swann and wife, Charlotte, of Jonesboro; a special cousin, Dr. Lloyd B. Minor of Palo Alto, California; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Rhonda Evans, APRN, and Dr. Cesar Gentille Sanchez of UAMS, Dr. Andrew Briggler of CARTI, and the diagnostic registered nurses and staff at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center for their exceptional care and grace they gave to David.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the funeral home. A private burial for the family will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
