Dennis Eugene
Patton
Oct 29, 1957 — May 12, 2022
Garland
Dennis Eugene Patton, age 64, of Garland, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Rowlett, Texas. He was born October 29, 1957, in Oxford, Mississippi to Stacy Eugene and Thelma Juanita "Nita" Graham Patton.
He was spiritual, nondenominational in his religious beliefs and loved Jesus.
His greatest joy in life was to make sure everyone he loved was cared for, safe and happy especially, his fur babies.
He genuinely loved his job and colleagues, and we are convinced he would have never actually retired.
He graduated from Dumas High School in 1975.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with minors in math and physics from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, an Associates in Theology at University of Christian Studies in Atlanta, Georgia and then went on to receive a Master of Business Administration on Technology Management at University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma and Alpha Sigma Big Brothers Special Olympics. He was known as "Poppa D" by many, and nothing made him happier than to spoil his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Gary Paul Patton; and his grandparents, Dee Orlando Patton, Maxie Quebelle Welch Patton, Guy Graham and Hadru Graham.
Survivors are his mother; his daughters, Bethany Patton-Lortie and Brittany (Nikki) Patton, all of Russellville; three fur children, Bentley,
Mercedes "Cede" and Frankie B; one sister, Sandra (Charles) Raby of Kilgore, Texas; two brothers, Darrell (Cindy) Patton of Dumas and Kevin (Terrah) Patton of Maumelle; and many nephews, nieces, and beloved adopted grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at McFadden Cemetery with Lisa Eichenberger officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the Shinn Chapel.
