It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Marie Ross, age 63, of Atkins, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. She was born May 20, 1961, in Conway, to Johnie Jackson and Eldora Inez Carrol Hjelden Harlen.

Doris was a homemaker.  She devoted herself to her home and family. As a mother, she always supported her children in any way she could. Her home is filled with pictures of her children and grandchildren that she cherished.  She will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother who always had a smile, even when times were tough. She was a very talented artist who had a love for watercolor and drawing. You were lucky if you ever received one of her portraits or paintings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roger Dale Ross; and two brothers, Roger Don Harlen and Johnie Harlen.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Joshua Allen; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger Dale Jr. and Desheala Ross; six grandchildren, Robert, Marliegh, Erik, Symone, Caleb and Bodhi; four brothers, Walter, David, Jesse and Howard Harlen; a sister, Joyce Harlen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to say a final goodbye on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Shinn Funeral Service.

Burial will be private under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
