Duane E. Childers, age 73, of Lamar, died Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born December 20, 1947, in Clarksville, to Claude Cecil and Macie Ila Selby Childers.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Argus, Carl and his beloved twin, Wayne Childers; and two sisters, Helen Bouchard and Gail Newman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Childers; one son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Monica Childers; three grandsons, Malachi and the twins, Asher and Luke Childers; two brothers and sister-in-law, William "Tubby" and Margaret Childers of Van Buren and James Childers, of Lamar; two sisters and brother-in-law, Susie Francis of Orlando, Florida, and Donna and Bill Jackson of Mountainburg; along with nephews, nieces, several friends and his church family.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Bethel Baptist Church in Knoxville, with Pastor Terry Kennedy and Pastor Daniel Conditt officiating, with burial in Lamar Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Pallbearers are James Childers, David Clayborn, Norm Clayborn, Lee Hicks and Ronnie Zachary.
