Dwain Sumners, age 82, of Russellville, died Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home.  He was born March 21, 1940, to James Otho and Mabel Campbell Sumners.

He was a cattle and poultry farmer and enjoyed wood working and making custom furniture.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Susie, who raised him; a son, David Dwain Cossey; a brother, Herbert Sumners; and two sisters, Rosetta Brown and Modene Griffin.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances Sumners; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sherie Smith of Bokoshe, Oklahoma and Douglas and Lecia Sumners of Ozark; a daughter, Connie Simon of Russellville; a sister, Bernice Freeman of Russellville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Owens Cemetery near Dover with Brother James Wait officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home.
