Fred H. "Fritz" Freeman, age 84, of Dardanelle, died Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home, after a brief illness.  He was born March 22, 1938, in Iola, Kansas to Decker Bartley and Ida Bernice Jones Freeman.

He graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri and was a Sigma Chi at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.

Prior to making the River Valley his home, he was a sales executive with Sylvania Electric in New York City.  The family was lured to Dardanelle when they purchased the Post-Dispatch with Jane's sister and brother-in-law, Joe and Judy Stocks, from W. L. and Alice Sturtevant.  Later, he was a partner at F & J Tire with the late, Johnny Williamson.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Freeman; two children, Linda Newby (Michael Roys) and Jim (Darci) Freeman; four grandchildren, Decker (Ashley) and Drew Freeman, Chris and Elizabeth Newby; a nephew, Joey Stocks (Marc Silvestri); three nieces, Jill (Frank) Lawrence and their children, Jack and Caroline, Anne Sturtevant, and Kelly Sturtevant and her son, Conrad. He was a life-long vehicle collector and is also survived by six automobiles and a golf cart.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
