Genevieve "Gen" Allan, age 91, of Russellville, died Thursday, September 15, 2022, at her home. She was born May 30, 1931, in Benld, Illinois, to Steve Michael and Rose Catherine Glur Koniak.

Gen was a shining example of a life well lived. She never shied from adventure, whether volunteering to paint a neighbor's house with her friends or racing to beat the train, she took every opportunity to laugh and enjoy the moment. Gen was an avid bridge player, knitter, and the consummate host. Most mornings she could be found working the daily crossword or the newest puzzle on dining room table. She also enjoyed painting ceramics to take her holiday decorations to the next level. Gen's legacy of warmth and kindness will continue on for those who loved and were loved by her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeep Allan, and a son, Mick Allan.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Olga Allan III; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Kay Allan and Mary Jo and Chris Tucker; brothers Leo and Melvin Koniak; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the funeral home. All arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
