Glenna Lou Rye, age 85, of Morrilton formerly of Russellville died Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Conway Regional Medical Center.  She was born December 17, 1937, in Scottsville to Sidney Simpson and Sarah Gwendolyn Harris Rye.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joel Elliott.

Survivors include one brother, Lindsey Rye of Russellville; a son, Kyle Elliott of Dover; one great-grandson; and three great-granddaughters.

In 1991, she was chosen as "Citizen of the Year" by the Dover Chamber of Commerce and also given "The Arkansas Community Development Award of Exceptional Accomplishments".  This was a statewide recognition presented for Outstanding Leadership in improving the community. She was one of fourteen, at the time, in the state to receive this award from the State Chamber of Commerce and the Governor of the State of Arkansas. She was involved in many aspects of different Arkansas organizations such as being a board member, board of directors and other associations throughout her life.

She was a member of House of Praise Church of Russellville and was a 59 year member of Chapter 505 Russellville Eastern Star.

The burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park of Russellville, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
