Gloria Dean Blaty, age 90, of Russellville, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was born March 12, 1931, in Little Rock, to John Palistine and Eva Irene Lilley Venable.

She was instrumental in establishing blood drives in the River Valley, where she served with the Red Cross for over 25 years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Junior Auxiliary of Russellville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband J.O. Blaty; two sons and daughter-in-law, Mark and Johnnie Sue, and Rusty Blaty; a daughter, Deborah Hairr; a brother, Johnny Venable; four grandchildren, Leah Folk, Amanda Melson, Ruston Blaty and Whitney Philpott; along with 11 great grandchildren.

A private family conducted memorial service will be held at a later date, and arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. John's Catholic School, 1912 W Main St, Russellville, AR 72801.
