Hazel Marie McGill, age 82, of Russellville, passed Sunday, January 1, 2023, at the Dardanelle Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born July 21, 1940, in Neosho, Missouri to Samuel Jolly and Winnie Scoggins.

Early in life, she was a skilled nurse's aide and caregiver, which came naturally to her as she was always known as a "Second mom" to all that had the good fortune of knowing her. Her happy, outgoing spirit was infectious and always lit up the room. She loved embroidering, crocheting and quilting gifts, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking for her loved ones and never went anywhere without her dog, Chico. She was loved to the fullest and will be forever missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin and Danny Drake; and her step-father, Harry Scoggins.

Survivors include, two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Laura Drake of Tyler, Texas and Eddie and Dana Brown of Greenwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Charles Waits; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A private burial for the family, will be in Peace Valley Cemetery near Anderson, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the funeral home.
