Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Michael Seward, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, on July 02, 2026. James departed this world peacefully at his home in Dover, after a courageous battle with illness, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on August 7, 1968, in Dardanelle, James was the beloved son of Bobby and Elizabeth Seward.

James was a graduate of Dover High School class of 1986, and soon after, embarked on a dedicated career as a maintenance worker at Tyson Foods. Over his 30 plus-year tenure, he became a respected member of the Tyson family, known not only for his hard work and diligence, but also for his kindness and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a man who would lend a hand to anyone or give the shirt off his back if you needed it. His jokes and infectious laugh will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A true outdoorsman at heart, James found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, often spending his free time in the great outdoors. His greatest joy, however, came from the time he spent with his family and friends.

James is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Michaela and Quinton Releford, who provided him with endless pride and joy. He was a grandfather to five beautiful grandchildren, who were the light of his life and a source of boundless happiness. He will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Robert, Jackie, and Jason Seward, who shared countless memories and adventures throughout their lives together.  As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

As we gather to honor his memory, we encourage donations to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers, a gesture that embodies James's spirit of giving and compassion.

As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories and carry them forward. His family lovingly expresses; James Michael Seward's spirit will be "forever in our hearts."

All arrangements are private under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
