James Harold Stewart, age 71, of Russellville, died peacefully, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home. He was born May 7, 1953, in Russellville, to Vernon Howard and Bertha Beulah Abernathy Stewart.

He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He graduated from Russellville High School in 1971 and was a veteran in the US Army serving in Korea. James worked as a printer for the Atkins Chronicle. James loved coaching and watching baseball and spent his final years fishing and camping. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling with his wife, Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Anna Lou Davidson Stewart; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Lisa Stewart of Panama City, Florida, Thomas and Eleshia Stewart of South Dakota and Gary and Erica Dobbs of Houston, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri and Derek Swader of Guntersville, Alabama and Heather and Kerry McConnell of Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Rhonda Stewart of Russellville; a sister, Johnnie Frueauff of Hope Mills, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and stepfather, Lloyd Atkinson.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Shinn Chapel, with the Rev. Dusty Lindsey officiating and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel.
