Jim Horton, age 74, of Russellville died Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.  He was born September 30, 1946, in Russellville to Haskell Lee and Mary Ellen Haney Horton.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church.  He retired as Assistant Fire Chief from Russellville Fire Department after 20 years and retired from Hack's Cleaners. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War where he was in the 1st Field Force, 54th Signal Battalion Radio Relay.  He was a member of the Civil Service Commission (Russellville) and volunteered at Russellville Library.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara Horton; and a daughter, Marianne Horton of Russellville.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Oakland Cemetery with honors provided by Russellville Fire Department honor guard, officiated by Dr. Tony Griffin and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

An open viewing will be held Tuesday from 1:00-4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert McCollum, Randy Haney, Robert Haney, Bruce Haney, Mark Haney, David Haney and Donald Haney.

Honorary pallbearers will the past and present employees of the Russellville Fire Department.
