Jimmie Childers, age 85, of Russellville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Baptist Health in Conway. He was born March 27, 1940, in Tulare, California, to Houston and Lois Russell Childers.

He is a veteran of the United States Navy, was a home builder, and a truck driver for Landstar for many years. He attended Calvary Temple Assembly of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arleta Brown.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ryan Garner of East End; two grandchildren, Anthony Reed of East End and Kaylee Reed of Russellville; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Evelyn Qualls, both of Russellville; a nephew, David (Donna) Wood of Oregon; a long-time friend/caregiver, Mary Poe of Russellville; and two bonus children, Randy Freeman and Vicky Maggard both of Russellville.

All services are private with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery near Atkins under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
