Obituary

Jimmie Lou Trusty, age 90, of Russellville, went to her Heavenly home Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home.  She was born April 4, 1932, in Gumlog to the late Jimmy and Dora West in the Gumlog community, Russellville.

After growing up in Gumlog, she married Bob Trusty in 1954, and lived in Russellville all her life, except for brief stints in Malvern and Conway, Arkansas.  She worked for The Bank of Russellville, Continental Telephone, and many years for Joe Paulk Wholesale Company as Secretary and bookkeeper.  She was a lifelong member, and last surviving charter member, of First Free Will Baptist Church, now Connect Church.  She served in many roles in the church; teacher, nursery worker, choir member, treasurer, missions supporter, and consummate hostess. She and her husband, Bob, were the unofficial welcome wagon for many new church attenders, and those who recently moved to town. She enjoyed league bowling, treasuring her friendships with her bowling team.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bob Trusty, a great granddaughter, Melody Grace Pepper, and by nine of her ten siblings.

She is survived by three children; Cindy Ellis (Billy) of Dover, Tammy Mabry (Keith) of Dover, and Jim Bob (Sheila) Trusty of Danville; her seven grandchildren, Craig (Sarah) Ellis, Matt Ellis, Zachary (Lydia) Mabry, Ashlee (Ryan) Pepper, Marissa (Mitchell) Mourot, Hunter Mabry, and Jay (Leah) Trusty; 10 great-grandchildren; Will and Henry Ellis, Luke and Adeline Mabry, Haley, Maddie, Rylynn, and Isaac Pepper; Marcie Mourot, and Kate Trusty; one Sister, Patsy Ables of Hot Springs, and a host of family and friends.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Connect Church with the Rev. Billy Ellis and the Rev. Blaine Rogers officiating.  Burial will be in Old Baptist Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Connect Church, 1103 E. L St., Russellville AR, 72801, or Gideons International, P.O. Box 1604 Russellville AR, 72811.
