Jimmy Powell, age 78, of Russellville, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at his home.  He was born February 4, 1946, in Solgohachia to Homer Alexander and Flora May Russell Powell.

He was a member of Bakers Creek Baptist Church and was a mechanic in Russellville for many years.  He enjoyed building and fixing things, westerns, NASCAR, and John Deere.  His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ann Roberson; and his siblings, Junior Powell, Samuel Powell, Wayne Powell, Adam Marion Powell, Loretta Speakes, Amalita Ramsey, Iva Lee Welch, Annette Kirkendall and Thomas Lee Powell.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marie Powell; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Rick Allen of Russellville; a sister, Yvonne Jones of Atkins; four grandchildren, Michelle Loveless (Brandyn), Kelsey Allen (Aaron Young), John "Hank" Roberson and Danielle Mears (Lance); five great-grandchildren, Zaidyn, Kaiden, Bennett, Kehlani, and Maggie May; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A family conducted memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Bakers Creek Baptist Church with the Bro. Robert McDaniel officiating. Burial will be private in Overcup and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
