John Owen "J.O." Blaty, age 92, of Russellville, passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. He was born August 10, 1929, in Little Rock, to Joseph Bernard and Lucille Frances Murphy Blaty.

He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, and a veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Dean Blaty.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Johnnie Sue, and Rusty Blaty; a daughter, Deborah Hairr; four grandchildren, Leah Foulk, Amanda Melson, Ruston Blaty and Whitney Philpott; along with 11 great-grandchildren.

A private family conducted memorial service will be held at a later date, and arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. John Catholic School, 1912 W Main St, Russellville, AR 72801.
