John Shelby, age 77, of Dover, died Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at his home. He was born September 22, 1944, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John William Jr. and Vada Grace Patterson Shelby.

He was a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps., where he served in Viet Nam. He was also a master Harley Davidson Motorcycle mechanic and custom builder for 63 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John William Shelby III; and two sisters, Jean Foster, and Elaine Hackleman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Shelby; two stepdaughters, Michelle Madrid and Tia Paneet; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Michael Hill; and his very best friend, Ron and his wife Kathy Johnson.

All services are private, and arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
