Obituary

Johnny Ralph Pew, age 86, a lifelong resident of Atkins, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Johnny Ralph was born July 5, 1940, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to the late Willie Pew and Betty Maxwell. A man of deep faith and community dedication, he was a devoted member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a respected Master Mason. Johnny Ralph also proudly served his country in the Army National Guard as a combat engineer, rising to the rank of Specialist 5.

Known to all as a remarkably kind and generous man, Johnny Ralph spent his career on the road and in service to his community. He dedicated 10 years to Wonder Bread and 23 years to Frito-Lay as a route delivery man, greeting everyone he met with a warm smile. Johnny Ralph loved a good laugh, never turned down a chance to travel and explore new places, and believed that life was meant to be an adventure shared with the people you love.

Johnny Ralph was blessed with two great loves in his lifetime. He was married to Patsy Clay for 46 years, and together they raised three children. Years later, a beautiful high school romance was reignited when he reconnected with Ann Donahou at Hopewell Baptist Church. The two were wed on December 28, 2008, at Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, blending their families. Together Ann and Johnny Ralph went on many adventures including visiting family across the U.S.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, James Fay Pew, Ruth Dunlap, and Agnes Burris; and his daughter, Laurie Donahou.

Johnny Ralph's legacy of love lives on through his survivors: his wife, Ann Donahou Pew; his children, Mike Pew (Tracy) of Vilonia, Jeff Pew (Lisa) of Atkins, and Laura Pew-Stephenson of Russellville; his step-children, Mike Donahou (Jan) of Wisconsin, and Steve Donahou (Echo) of Hawaii; and his brother, Truman Pew of Russellville; as well as 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Charlie Millikin and Kelli Brixey of Hospice Home Care for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to Johnny Ralph.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Hopewell Baptist Church, 1921 Hopewell Rd, Atkins, AR 72823, with Bro. Charlie Bird officiating. Burial will be private, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Johnny Ralph's honor to Hopewell Baptist Church.
