Joyce McCain, age 75, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home. She was born July 29, 1947, in Russellville, to Fred B. and Nina Eubanks McCain.

She was a 1969 Arkansas Tech University graduate and employed by ATU at the Ross Pendergraff Library from 1969 to 2009, with over 40 years of service at the time of her retirement. She traveled with and kept statistics for the ATU Golden Suns (Basketball Team) for over 17 years, which were some of her fondest memories. Her volunteer service to the Golden Suns is still remembered by numerous head and assistant coaches, and hundreds of players over the years that she helped mentor. She served as a member of several library organizations, including Arkansas Library Association, The Arkansas Association of School Librarians, and The Association of Instrumental Media (AAIM). She was honored as a lifetime member of AAIM and served as the organization's historian from 1997 to 2009.

She was a longtime member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Russellville, serving as Sunday School Superintendent until just recently. She was a generous financial supporter of over 20 local and state charities that were close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie McCain Cain and Roy Cain of Russellville; a brother, Dean McCain of Pottsville; a nephew, Bradley (Chassity) McCain of London; a great-nephew, Bryan (Irene) McCain of Moreno Valley, California; and her lifelong friends, Bob and Cathy Heim of Russellville; and their children, Mitchell (Shauna) Barton, Amanda (Jeff) Williams, Jordan (Dustin) Sowers, and Rebekah (Casey) McCraine.

The funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2022, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, with Pastors Devoe Campbell and Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will be private in North New Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Pallbearers are Kerry Blair, Ronnie Sanders, Thomas Taylor, John Kendrick, Doug Chisum and Danny Sexton.

Honorary pallbearers are Bob Heim, Pete, and Willene Lusk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ATU Academic Scholarship Foundation, or Calvary Temple A/G Missions Fund, 3345 AR-124, Russellville AR, 72802, in honor of our loving Aunt and friend, Joyce McCain.
