Kenneth Neil Edmonson, age 81, of Scranton, died Saturday, May 22, 2021, at his home. He was born August 4, 1939, in Pharr, Texas, to Jesse Milton and Esta Lee Swindle Edmonson.

Bro. Neil spent his life in service as a Southern Baptist minister and was retired from the Russellville School District, where he was a teacher and a principal. His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, and music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bea Edmonson.

He is survived by his wife, Fredia Abernathy Edmonson; a daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Jeremiah Sutton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Dora Edmonson; a brother, Wray Edmonson; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and John Dix; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Linda Edmonson; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jessica) Brown; Arah (Kyle) Shaw; Matthew (Samantha) Brown; Kenneth (Natalie) Edmonson; Charles (Robyn) Edmonson; Stephen Brown; and Isaac (Laura-Mae) Sutton. Bro. Neil also had nine great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the Shinn Chapel, with Bro. Jay Edmonson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
