Lavella Ninita Dornan, age 76, of El Dorado, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at CHI St. Vincent, in Little Rock. She was born August 8, 1946, in Mesa, Arizona, to Roy Nelson and Juanita Estelle Creasy Bewley.

She was a member of Marrable Hill Chapel in El Dorado, received a Master of Education from SAU, a longtime teacher at El Dorado High School, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, and quilting with her friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Dornan; a brother, Bishop L. Bewley; a sister, Mayta Jane Bewley; and a grandson, Joshua Ryan Damron.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony E. Jr. and Hali M. Sims, and William M. and Alayna Dornan; a daughter and son-in-law, LaTonya E., and Eric Damron; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy B. and Terry Bewley, and James C. and Kathy Bewley; a sister and brother-in-law, Hilda M. and Howard Caudle; 12 grandchildren, James Cody Sims, Brittany Leeann Damron, Alyssa Michelle Damron Taylor and spouse Sage Taylor, Sierra Sims Montano, Delta Rae Sims, James D. Sims, Jadeson Truong, Jolie M. Sims, Harlie Q. Sims, Riggins P. Dornan, C. Cross Dornan and Grady A. Dornan; and seven great-grandchildren, Emerson Ryan, Elliott Rose, and Eliana Jean Taylor, and Nicolas Gomez, Madeline Montano, Maximo Montano, and Mariano Montano.

The funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Shelby T. Raines officiating. A private burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time in the Chapel.
