Obituary

Margaret June Campbell, age 92, of Delaware, traveled to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 6, 2023.  She was born June 11, 1930, to the late Gustavus and Dovie Wurst.

June retired after 18 years as a civil servant with the United States Postal Service and was proud of her time with them. June was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Delaware, where she served for many years in every capacity within her ability and qualifications. Whether teaching Sunday school or serving lunch during fellowship service, she did so with a humble heart. June was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, whose mission was to make a positive difference in the world with charitable works, lasting friendships, and loving-kindness to all mankind. Like the values that served as the organization's tenets, June was honest, dependable, and kind.

When June was not serving others, she enjoyed traveling, playing games, various arts and crafts, baking, and spending time with her family. She loved to laugh and was always up for an adventure. She embraced silliness and used her imagination to cultivate creativity in the many children who were blessed with her as a motherly figure.

June's measure is not easily summarized in the spaces before you. She was far more than the family could put into words during times of grief. If you knew her, you loved her, and in the end, that's all we can hope for in life. Her impact on this earth was insurmountable and will be felt deeply by many for years to come.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jehu Campbell; a daughter, Sandy Kendrick; as well as four brothers and seven sisters.

It is with comfort that the surviving family relinquishes her spirit to their loving arms for eternity.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she is survived by many who loved her dearly; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Sheila Campbell of Delaware, Darrel and Faye Campbell of Delaware, and Kirby Campbell of Scranton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Dennis Sisco of Benton and Tammi and Kenny Richardson of Greenwood. She was the loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Delaware, with the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in Graves Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brice Sisco, Brad Richardson, Chad Richardson, Cory Campbell, Derek Kendrick, and Bryan Peters.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Delaware, 25037 State Hwy. 22, Delaware Arkansas 72835.
