Mary Payton, age 88, of Russellville, died Friday, January 12, 2024, at her home.  She was born December 4, 1935, in Booneville, Mississippi to James Noonie and Alma Lee Holmes McCoy.

She was a member of Apostolic Light House in Dardanelle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jurld Elger Payton; two brothers, Anothony McCoy and Daniel McCoy; two sisters, Charlotte Simmons and Shirley Townsley; a daughter, Sandra Hale; and a son, Scott Payton.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley (Jeanie) Payton and Steve Payton all of Russellville; one sister, Pat (Gearld) Jarvis of Memphis, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in the Shinn Chapel officiated by the Rev. David Hutchins. Burial will be private in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel.
