Mike Schwander, age 74, of Russellville, died Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at his home. He was born September 10, 1951, in Granite City, Illinois, to Stanley Emil and Freda Marie Bronnbauer Schwander.

Mike was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served on the USS New during Vietnam. He was also an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, and ride his four-wheeler as often as he could.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Schwander and his sister, Adeline Hubbard.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Anitta Schwander; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Emy Courtwright, Patty Fondren, and Cathy and Craig Burchfield; along with other relatives and friends.
