Randy Steve
Wheeler
Nov 29, 1961 — Jan 30, 2022
Dover
Randy Steve Wheeler, age 60, of Dover, died Sunday, January 30, 2022, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center with his wife holding his hand. He was born November 29, 1961, in Harrison to Lester "Doby" and Niva Freeman Wheeler.
He was a Daddy, Husband, Pepa, Fur Dad, Chicken Dad, Boss, Coach, and friend. He was always joking and giving anyone and everyone a hard time. He was laid back and seldomly ever mad, he was loved by so many.
He was a member of the Russellville Christian Center and the president of the Linker Mountain Fire Department. He was employed at ANO from 1981-1989. He was currently employed at Lift Truck Service Center, Inc., as the branch manager since 1989, both in which he made lots of friends, and many became family.
He loved attending the stock car or go kart races almost every weekend, and if he wasn't there, he'd be at a music festival, watching his grandkids play sports, camping with his family or piddling in his shop. He enjoyed grilling out burgers, cooking and having Randy's Taco Shack regularly with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren that he was so proud of. He coached his daughter, Brandy's softball team for many years, impacting and adoring all of the children that played. Stray animals always seemed to find a way to his house, and he took better care of them than most do their own kids. He currently had two dogs, two cats and about 15 chickens he rescued.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Carl Wayne Reddell; mother-in-law, Linda Joyce Davenport; two close special uncles, Raymond and George Wheeler; and a special aunt, Emmaline Tennison.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kim Wheeler; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Jason Casey of Dover; two grandchildren, Allyson and Abbygail Casey both of Dover; his step-father, Allen Kimball of Russellville; five brothers and a sister-in-law, Arlis Wheeler, Jearl Wheeler, Gary and Glenda Kimball, Bob Kimball all of Dover and Bill Kimball of Oklahoma; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Arlos Dotson of Dover, Ruby and James Sutherland of Oklahoma, and Carolyn and Ralph Griggs of North West, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Linda Long of Dover; a sister-in-law, Carla and Richard Conduff of Georgia; a brother-in-law, Zack Reddell of Hartman; a sister-in-law, Lindsey Reddell of Russellville; special aunts, Viola Wheeler and Earlene and David Holmes; his fur babies, Sally, Elvis, Hope, Sophie and the chickens; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many other relatives, friends and those who treated him like family, Carl and Sharron Morehead, and the whole Morehead family.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Shinn Chapel with Tammy Dalton officiating. Burial will be in McFadden Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to any local animal rescue or shelter.
