Richard Armstrong, age 75, of Pottsville, died Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at his home. He was born March 5, 1947, in Alexandria, Virginia, to Eugene Arthur and Catherine Pyale Armstrong.

He is a Vietnam veteran, where he served in the United States Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Armstrong; a son, William Armstrong; and his brother, Eugene Armstrong.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Laura Armstrong; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bob Freck; two grandchildren, Katherine and Joseph Freck; a cousin, Joni Armstrong; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Shinn Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Huffman officiating, and arrangements under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
