Obituary

Robert Green, age 69, of Dover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Luling, Louisiana. He was born December 12, 1955, in Greenville, Mississippi, to Clarence Howard and Dorothy Jean Chadwick Green.

He was a man of quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering dedication to his family and passions.  Robert was the devoted husband of Sonja Green, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership.  Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring memories.  He was also a proud and loving father to Britni Green, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.  Robert loved the outdoors, especially going on hunting or fishing trips; his love for the outdoors was matched only by his talent for woodworking.  To know Robert was to know a man of integrity.  His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he loved deeply, and thecountless memories made around the kitchen table, in the fields, and in his workshop.  He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Raymond Evans; his stepmother, Betty Green; a brother-in-law, Wade Jorgensen; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wayne and Carmen Jorgensen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sonja Green; his daughter and son-in-law, Britni and Mitch Green; a brother and sister-in-law, Kib and Kim Green; a sister and brother-in-law, Celeste and Kent Humphrey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wade and Beth Jorgensen; nieces and nephews, Chad and Johanna Harmon (Alex and Harmon), Amanda and Chris Ebner (Kaeli and Riley Carew, Abigail and Jake Stanley and Lexie), Dakota Rupe and fiancée Maighan Stockton, Jordan and John McDaniel (Lonnie), and Lailah and Bella Green.

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, with the Pastor Joshua Schooping officiating. Burial will be private, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
