Robert K. Howerton, age 83, of Pottsville died Thursday, September 16, 2021, surrounded by loved ones at his home.  He was born November 13, 1937, in Hico Texas, to James Bloof and Inez Luella Lloyd Howerton.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of North New Hope Assembly of God. He worked alongside his wife in logging for many years. Family and fishing were the loves of his life. He was truly a gentleman until the end.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Sue Howerton; his daughter, Janet Werner; and all of his brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Tom Irving, Melissa and J.J. Johnson and Angie and Tony Reynolds all of Russellville; a son-in-law, Fred Werner of Russellville; seven grandchildren, James Smith, Misty (Jeremy) Haggard, Keisha (Zach) Musgrave, Jeremiah Johnson, Catlin Webster, Tony (Leanna) Reynolds and Kim (Eric) Rogers; a grandson-in-law, Aric Parker; seven great-grandchildren, Allison Haggard, Phoebe, Asher and Annabelle Smith, Lexi and Emily Parker, Arya Musgrave, Brooklyn and Brittany Reynolds and Ashton and Preslee Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at North New Hope Cemetery Pavilion, with the Rev. Allen Blackford officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
