Sandra Sweeney, age 82, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at her home. She was born December 18, 1941, in Hope, to William Michael and Etoile Delyle Cook Sweeney.

She loved children very much, which led to a long career in education, where she served as a teacher for many years. She was also a volunteer for the Russellville Public Library. She was a member of the Crow Mountain Extension Homemakers Club, and a Sunday school teacher at Fifth and Greenwich Church of Christ, which changed names to Shiloh Road Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jerrie Maxine Hare.

She is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael John and Mary, Anthony Carl and Debbie, and Jonathan Ray and Kathy Sweeney; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; along with her long-time caregiver, Suzanne Sweet.

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Shinn Chapel, with Bro. Luke Guthrie officiating. Burial will be private in Rest Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
