Sherry
Buford
d. Apr 12, 2024
Ola
Sherry Buford, age 63, of Ola, finished her battle here on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12:31 p.m. She was visited by close family in the days leading up to her final moments, and her husband and son were with her when she drew her last breath and shed this earthly body. Heaven gained one of the greatest and through Jesus we can all see her again.
Sherry and Chuck spent 40 years together. They were a true example of a couple fulfilling their vows to one another. While Sherry always knew Chuck loved her, she didn't understand how "in love" with her he was until she got sick. Chuck worked tirelessly attending doctors' appointments, treatments, procedures, hospital stays, and taking care of her at home all while still maintaining his business. She took care of him and attended to his needs in the rare instances that he was under the weather or had an injury as well. Their love for one another was so pure.
Sherry was a fierce, loving, selfless, giving, meek and humble person. She was the biggest cheerleader of her family and an outspoken defender of her people. She owned and operated Mima's Café, one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Yell County for the better part of two decades with her best friend, Sylvia Johnston. She touched so many lives, and if you had the opportunity to know Sherry, you probably loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Buford; two sons and daughter-in-law, Cody and Gabrielle Buford of Eureka Springs and Jeremy Buford of Ola; a daughter, Michelle Hinshaw of Ola; brother and sisters, Randy and Shannon Bailey of Bismarck, Tracy and Jeff Owen of Jessieville and Karen Long of Mountain Pine; her Buford brothers and sisters, Bill Buford of Ola, Glenn and Wanda Buford of South Carolina, Katharine Buford of Ola, Leda and Sam Cullum of Russellville and Diane and Neil Thomlinson of Texas; four grandchildren, Chandler Buford and (Myles Johnson), Hayden Buford, Brittany (Neal) Plummer, and Myranda Buford; five great-grandchildren, Royce Johnson, Jude, Reed, and Forrest Plummer and one on the way, Reyce Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
