Stephen Starkey, age 80, of Russellville, died Wednesday August 5, 2026, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born April 27, 1946, in New York, New York, to James Stephen and Margaret Adelle Smith Starkey.

He was a United States Navy veteran who served as a submariner. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and was a devoted husband and father.

In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Starkey; two brothers, James and John Starkey; and his twin sister, Peggy Shaefer.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Joanne Starkey of South Burlington, Vermont; twin brothers and a sister-in-law; Billy Starkey, Bob and Michelle Starkey, all of Russellville; a sister, Catherine Lawson of Gainesville, Florida; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

All services are private under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
