Susie Marie Stephens, age 69, of Pottsville, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at her home.  She was born April 25, 1954, in Newton, Iowa to Louie Estalee Modlin and Ethel Faye Beaver.

She worked and retired from USDA after 30 years.  She enjoyed music and word searches. Susie loved her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Arther Lee Stephens; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Brent Hallum of Pottsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Darlene Hubbard of Atkins and Louis and Alayna Modlin of Marshalltown, Iowa; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Rick Pierce and Rebecca Hubbard all of Russellville; and two grandchildren, William and Teddy Hallum.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Shinn Chapel with the Pastor Howard Wheeler officiating. A private burial will be in Ellis Chapel Cemetery near Searcy under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00-6:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
