Tena Denise
Stahl
Dec 26, 1955 — Jan 25, 2025
Russellville
Tena Denise Stahl, age 69, wife of Mike Stahl, died Saturday, January 25, 2025, at her home in Russellville.
The daughter of the late James "Jim" and Martha Davis was born in 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Tena retired from Simmons First Bank where she worked as a teller for many years. She was a member of Connect Church in Russellville where she played an active role since childhood. If there was a need, she would volunteer. She played the organ and piano for the praise team for over 50 years. She was a part of the Followers Sunday School class, a small group leader, a member of Oasis, volunteered at the church's Christmas Hope shop as a wrapper, and used her sewing skills in whatever way she could at church. For years she sewed countless costumes for the church's Christmas Cantatas. Even until the morning she passed, she was making alterations to suits for the honored guests of a Night to Shine. When her health allowed, she went on mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala. She hosted a domino game every Friday for her ladies: Arminta, Lou, Patsy, Betty and Jannine. These games lasted hours, and they were full of laughter, food, and fun.
Her volunteer work did not stop at church. She traveled the country to help her family and friends. She stayed with her sister in California after surgery and helped family and friends move in Tennessee. As a mother, she always supported her children in any way she could. She volunteered in the classrooms of her daughter in Tennessee. She sewed many spirit day costumes and teacher outfits for her daughter here at the drop of a hat. She was a meaningful part of the church family of her children out of state at Peppertown Freewill Baptist. She packed up and helped her children move countless times. Her children and grandchildren could always count on her to be there in sickness or celebration.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Tena is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Mike Stahl; three children and their spouses, Arlie Rose and Jesse Price of Russellville, Tanner and Ashley Stahl of Mooreville, Mississippi and Emily and Brandon Stutts of Iron City, Tennessee; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris Ann and James Kinslow of Dover, Lisa and Paul David Duvall of Oak Grove and Amy Beth Moye of Dover; and nine grandchildren: J.D., Gracie, and Bo Mosley and Jordan Price, all of Russellville, Jacob and Katie Stutts of Iron City, Tennessee and Sadie, Hallie, and Samuel Stahl, all of Mooreville, Mississippi.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Connect Church in Russellville, officiated by the Pastor Blaine Rogers. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arminta Winner, Lou Davis, Jannine Hunnicutt, Betty Brunetti, Patsy Vanhook, the members of The Oasis and the Followers Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to Night to Shine in care of Connect Church, 1103 East L Street, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
