Thomas Lamar Crites, age 91, of Russellville, died Monday, October 20, 2025, at Legacy Heights Nursing Home.  He was born October 6, 1934, in Pope County, to Eldredge Larell and Pearlie Ann Baker Crites.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He was employed by the Arkansas State Highway Department for 33 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his life companion of 29 years, Doris Schluterman; and a nephew, Carrol Wayne Crites.

Survivors include his step-son and his spouse, Randy and Lisa Schluterman of Delaware; a brother and sister-in-law, Carmet and Juanita Crites of Atkins; a niece and her husband, Ann and Louis Schmoll of Atkins; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany Murray of Connecticut and Wendy (Vinnie) Vinson of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; and six step-great-grandchildren.

All services are private and arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
