Velma Carolyn Gilmer, age 75, of Russellville, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at St. Mary's Regional Medical.  She was born March 26, 1949, in Morehouse, Missouri to Aubry Happle and Norma Agnes Sparks Williams.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, dice, quilting, and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lynn Morehead Jr.; two sisters, Patrica Sparks and Laura Stone; and a brother, Tommy Williams.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Bobby Joe Gilmer; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph and Misty Morehead and David Gilmer; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Morehead Willson and David Willson, Faith Gilmer and Charlene and Johnny Bowles; three brothers and sisters-in-law, David Williams, Roy Gene and Tonya Williams and Roy Dean and Linda Williams; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie and Bill King and Verla Kaye and Jason Clifton; her niece and namesake, Carolyn Sue "Tinker" and her husband Ray Hutchison; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Don Stiles officiating.  Burial will be private and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
