Virginia Louise
Brown Parker
Apr 13, 1928 — Nov 24, 2024
Russellville
Virginia Louise Brown Parker, 96, of Russellville, was promoted to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born on April 13, 1928, in Palestine, Arkansas, to Robert and Gladys Higgins Brown. Virginia was a woman who deeply cherished her relationship with Jesus Christ, her family, and friends. She was passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus' gift of salvation for anyone who believed, and lived her life in a way that exemplified His love, mercy, and grace. Photos of her children and grandchildren were placed throughout her home and photos of each of her great-grandchildren lined the kitchen cabinet so she could daily pray over each one. She was diligent in taking care of her body and mind through daily exercise, eating healthy, reading, working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and dominoes, and actively watching game shows.
On August 26, 1946, she married the "love of her life," Bobby Raymond Parker, who graduated to his heavenly home in 2016. Their son, Dan R. Parker DDS, a great-grandchild, Finnegan Stacey, and her only brother, Jack Brown, also preceded her in death. Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her aunt, June Higgins Snyder, who grew up with her and was considered more like a sister, of Beebe; double-first cousin, Sue Higgins Cook of California; daughters, June Lawson, Gina Lawton (Bill) of Russellville, and Robin (Joe) Stacey of Harrison; daughter-in-law, Jan Parker of Russellville; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many loved ones who considered her as family.
A celebration of Virginia's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at House of Praise, where Bob and Virginia were founding pastors, with the Rev. Doc Shell of Alabama and Bro. Danny Worsham, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be private in St. Paul Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the family and friends who prayed for her and showed her such love and support. She often remarked that she was amazed at the love people showed her. She also thanked God daily for her church family and the many blessings she received; a loving husband for 70 years, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Virginia's honor to House of Praise, 5130 Norh Arkansas Ave, Russellville, Arkansas 72802.
