Vivian Sloan, age 94, of Barling, died Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Ashton Place Health and Rehabilitation in Barling.  She was born December 11, 1929, in Stonington, Colorado to James William and Greta Lasley Reed.

She was employed at Sparks Hospital and retired after 30 years.  She loved tennis and was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Sloan; a grandson, Jason Sloan; four brothers, Ellis, Abe, Carl and Kenneth Reed; and three sisters, Freda Reed, Jessie Bachelor, and Mary Holt.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Patricia Sloan and Richard and Karen Sloan all of Fort Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Randy Kralicek of Barling; a sister, Mable Tilburn of Spencer, Iowa; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Dacus Cemetery at Mt. George, with Deacon Mike Cauthron officiating, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
