Walter Lee
Ramsey
Sep 21, 1948 — Jun 21, 2026
Russellville
Walter Lee Ramsey, age 77, of Russellville, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at his home. He was born September 21, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Walter Lee Sr. and Elna Ruth Russum Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Ramsey; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Heather Ramsey of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Brian Sammons of Golden, Colorado; four grandchildren, Reagan, Dylan, and Davis Ramsey, and Etta Sage Sammons; a brother, Stephen Ramsey of Madison, Mississippi; a sister, Patrice Dickey of Germantown, Tennessee.
A lifelong dreamer and artist at heart, Walter lived a life guided by creativity, music, and a deep appreciation for beauty. He was a devoted songwriter who never stopped composing, a gifted piano player, and a poet whose words reflected both imagination and soul. Whether tending to his vibrant flower gardens, spending peaceful afternoons on the golf course, or admiring art in its many forms, Walter moved through the world with a gentle presence, leaving it more beautiful than he found it.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who deeply cherished his family.
To honor his creativity and spirit, we leave you with Walter's own words from his song:
See You All Again
(Requiem 2010)
I am speaking to you now
Though I am far away…
Somewhere in the great somewhere
Looking at a brand new day…
Not a wave upon the ocean,
Not a cloud in the sky,
Not a worry in my mind,
Not a tear in my eye.
If there is memory;
I will remember you
And hold you all so dear…
Now it seems so clear…
Not a wave upon the ocean,
Not a cloud in the sky,
Not a worry in my mind,
Not a tear in my eye.
I'll know where I was wanting and I'll know where I have sinned.
I'll know where I am going and I'll know where I've been.
And if it's possible to dream, I'll know that dreams will never end.
And if I wake I know I'll see you all again…
