Franklin G. "Gil" Chesnut Jr., age 58, of Russellville, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 19, 1952, at Memphis, Tennessee to the Rev. Franklin Gilmore and Laurelyn Travillian Chesnut. He graduated from Russellville High School in 1970 and Peabody College in 1974, with a Bachelors of Arts and again in 1975, with a Master of Library Science. He was the former librarian at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee, was the former owner of Record Exchange in Jonesboro, and was formerly employed by Books Unlimited in Russellville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and David Craine of Fort Smith and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, with the Rev. Glynn D. Craine officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

The visitation room will be open from 2 - 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
