Cremation Service Options

Shinn Funeral Service offers an endless array of options for those families who choose a cremation service for the final disposition of their loved ones. When a family chooses a cremation service, it does not mean the family can not have a traditional funeral at their church or at our chapel to celebrate the life of their loved one. When choosing a cremation service, keep in mind the many options afforded, including...

  • A full church or chapel service with visitation and the use of our rental casket
  • Visitation with memorial service and the use of our rental casket for visitation
  • Visitation only with the use of our rental casket
  • Visitation with photos, memorabilia and/or the urn present
  • Memorial service at your church or at our chapel
  • Graveside memorial service

Secured identification system assures the body which is cremated is actually that of your loved one and that the cremated remains return to you are actually those of your loved one.

Why is secured identification system unique?

Secured identification system does something that has never been done before, it creates a chain of custody for the deceased for the entire cremation process; from the moment the body is taken into the care of the funeral home until the family receives the cremated remains. Secured identification system creates accountability between the funeral home and crematory, ensuring that the deceased is tracked through the entire process.

With the cremation rate in the Unites States increasing, Shinn Funeral Service makes every effort to ensure peace of mind to grieving families that their loved ones are handled with the utmost respect and dignity and to know that the cremated remains returned to them are, in fact, those of their loved ones.

Traditional Funeral Followed by Cremation

Many families find meaning and beauty in a traditional funeral service. With a traditional service combined with cremation, you can still choose to have a final viewing, visitation, or wake, and have a funeral service. However, instead of an in-ground burial, the funeral will be followed by cremation. Depending on your wishes, the cremated remains may be either returned to your family for storage in an urn, scattered, or interred in a columbarium. This option includes fees for the funeral services and the cremation itself.

Memorial Service

The memorial service can be held in our chapel, a church, or any other venue the family chooses. We work with our families to design a service that honors their loved one with stories, music, or scripture. We are here to help you shape a farewell that feels natural and authentic while providing a supportive path towards healing.

Direct Cremation

Direct cremation involves transporting the deceased from the home, hospital, nursing facility, or coroner's office to our crematory facilities. It also includes completing all required paperwork. There are no formal memorial services, and your loved one's ashes are promptly returned to the family.

Graveside Service

Graveside services following cremation offer a meaningful way to honor your loved one with a final act of remembrance. This intimate gathering at the burial site of the urn provides a quiet moment for family and friends to reflect, share memories, and say goodbye in a peaceful setting. Whether simple or ceremonial, it's a heartfelt way to bring closure and lay your loved one to rest with dignity.

Aquamation

Aquamation, also known as water cremation or alkaline hydrolysis, is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional cremation. Using water and gentle flow, heat, and alkalinity, this process returns the body to its natural elements with minimal environmental impact, offering a respectful, sustainable choice for honoring your loved one.

Burying the Urn

Similar to a casket, the in-ground burial of the urn allows for a final resting place.
